Opening Ie6 Full Screen

Recommended Posts

This is a monor problem - but a niggle nevertheless.

I have a desktop icon to open Windows Forum without having to first open IE6. When I do this the programme opens OK but is not full screen - I have to click on the Windows maximise button.

If I first open IE6 from its desktop icon or from Start -Programmes, it opens full screen OK and I can then open Windows Forum from my favourites list - also full screen.

I have tried opening Windows Forum, making sure it is full screen, then adding the URL to Favourites which I have then sent to the desktop as a shortcut. But it is the same - does not open full screen.

The mystery is - other web pages when sent to the desktop as a shortcut all open full screen.

Its driving me nuts.

I have a feling the solution is going to be so simple that I will be at best embarrased and at worst humiliated.

Never mind - anything for a smooth life - so fire away.

Don't let it bother you that I shall probably end up crestfallen and downcast - I'm well used to it.

Powerless

Thanks. It now opens full screen - but the maximise button is still available so the window is actually bespoke size - but set to the maximum.

This is fine and I thank you for the tip - but why do other favourites open full screen with the Windows maximise button replaced with "restore down".
