andsome Posted January 22, 2010 Report Share Posted January 22, 2010 Someone on another forum has posted about Windows media Centre. He was disappointed in it calling it a CPU hog. I have had a look at my computer and it is listed in All programs. I clicked on it and it opened and asked me to set it up. I declined until I hear what others think of it. I am not particularly interested in watching TV on my computer as a norm, preferring my armchair downstairs. I would be interested in having a look out of curiosity, and may consider doing another Acronis back up and trying it. I can always get rid of it afterwards by installing my back up. Similarly, I don't want to compute on my TV set. For one thing the intrinsic definition of a TV is not good enough for resolving the necessary detail neither, at my age, is my distance vision - even with glasses. I was asked by the BBC to complete a survey a few days ago, I do one now and then. This one was all about their I player. I told them that as far as I am concerned it is a complete waste of time. I have Virgin and can watch catch up TV if I want ON THE TV SET. Nothing to download at all, just switch the Virgin box on and choose the programme that I want. The only way to watch I Player on the TV as far as I know is on Virgin. So you are stuck with the computer if you don't have Virgin. I will stand correcting on this if anyone knows better.
