I replaced the monitor cable with an ancient one at home and it started working. A bunch of experts at the computer shop couldn't fix it and I change the cable and it works! How come? kaishuoy Posted May 24, 2010 Author Report Share Posted May 24, 2010 Hmmm. Interestingly enough the computer decided to start playing up again. When i used this computer yesterday, the screen was back to the screwed up resolution. i replaced the cable, again, but it didn't help. However, interestingly enough, the screen does appear to be normal when i play battlefield 2, but when i exit this game, the screen goes back to the old one. I believe that the computer is not recognising my monitor as what it should be. I noticed the computer displaying it as a 'Generic non-pnp monitor' instead of 'S243hl' which it displays when it is working properly. anyone know how i can manually adjust resolution or fix this?
