Well yeah. You jus' as well be upfront, and truthful with people in the most diplomatic and pleasant way that you can.

Otherwise everyone thinks they can jump on the bandwagon, post crap posts, and try to run rings around genuine family people who are only trying to help.

A whole forum can slide into non-existence sometimes if you dont give truthful but sharpely barbed answers to those who think that they are going to play the "Timewaster" game or think that a simple thanks makes them look a bit sissy.

Tell it like it is. - Push a few boundaries.

You can be too pleasant to posters at times, and without the help of moderators find them (The posters) calling all of the tunes.

Sorry about that. I did try the website above but I could not figure out where to click to contact Mr. Roderick. I tried to enter a search on nVidia but it didn't work. If you could let me know I will try and find out what he did to resolve this problem.

And I did say it to myself and others but I didn't post it on this blog as I should have. I am so thankful on how much work all of you have done to help me resolve this problem. I learned many things about my software and hardware. You helped me resolve a problem that I could not have resolved on my own.

I found and downloaded one for your tuner.It came from a site that ran you through your paces before you actually got to the drivers download page.The site has good reviews,so it may be worth a look.I checked the file for malware and virus infections and seems to be clean.

I did find my driver in DriveGuide. I registered using the free option and skipped through many ads. I finally downloaded their software and tried to install it. It failed because it could not install Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0. I tried to download the 3.5 version from Microsoft's web site but it failed too. I have older versions of .Net Framework installed but I was reluctant to uninstall them for fear that I would not have any software version. This is just yet another issue that I must resolve. I thank you for your help in finding this resource but as I mentioned below I already had this driver under C:\NVIDIA which I was unable to find on my system before. Installing .Net Framework will require another Google search or a perhaps a new Topic in the Forum.

I did find my driver in DriveGuide. I registered using the free option and skipped through many ads. I finally downloaded their software and tried to install it. It failed because it could not install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. I checked and I have already installed .NET Framework 4 Extended. However, the downloaded software insists on using the 2.0 version and gives me an error message if I try to continue. My guess is I can't install 2.0 unless I uninstall later versions.

I thank you for your help in finding this resource but as I said elsewhere I already had this driver under C:\NVIDIA which I was unable to find on my system before.

Will usually identify pretty quickly what you have installed on your computer. Download and install one (or all) and see if you can identify a T.V tuner. This is gonna save you physically pulling the computer to pieces.

All that I can find from the information you have given is an external unit.

Quite possibly a group or store have re-hashed a computer and included T.V as a promotion.

Where did you buy it ? ( Sorry that's pushed it up from 001-012)

I have seen some computers with normal model numbers from ASDA/Wally World with sub-standard Mobos and strange things added as a sales leader. Drivers have been hard to find. ( I am talking EMachines here, and not HP though.)

Cant find any PCI cards Nvidia that tie up with what you describe.

You are just gonna have to dig deeper and give us more information.

I bought the HP Media Center m7183c from Costco. Costco often has manufacturers make versions directly for them. However, I did find in the HP Start Here Guide for this model that there are more than 3 different versions with this model number. My version has an internal NVIDEA DualTV PCI card. I didn't see that card shown in any of the 3 versions.

W7 came with .NET 3.5.Version 4 installed through Updates.Vrsion 1 was just recently intalled through an online game I installed.I am pretty sure I have V.2 floating around in this box as well.They have installed on top of each other with no problems so far.

I tried to install .NET Framework 2 directly from Microsoft's website. I got the following error message:

Error 25015, Failed to install assembly

'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Microsoft.VisualBasic.Compatibility.dll' because of system error: 0x80131107

I then tried to install .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 which also failed to install. After sending an error port to Microsoft, Microsoft responded that there is a know compatibility problem with VisualStudio.NET.

I was unable to find Visual Basic or Visual Studio when I clicked the Add or Remove Software button in the control panel. I did find Microsoft Visual Studio in the C:\Program Files. However, it contained many folders but only one file: ASP.TLB

Thank you. This web site identified the problem. I had to delete C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.050727. The .NET Framework 2 install was then successful. I was then able to install and test DeviceGuide's DeviceMender. It is a pretty cool utility. It scanned and identified all the drivers on my system. It found the nVidia driver. It also shows which drivers are out of date and need updating. It can also backup all my drivers at a location that I specify. The only catch is it requires purchasing a 1 year license for $30 (which is usually on sale for $15).

Sorry about the issue of having to pay for the service of DriverGuide.I certainly wasn't trying to advertise.

A member of this forum,ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb,has posted an alternative in THIS post.

The free version lets you download 2 drivers a day.I've used it and it has settled an issue I've had for months.

Hope you can use it to your advantage as well.... ;)
