Hi all,

I got a new laptop with Windows 7 on it, which I hated. I then downgraded it to Windows XP. I have my old laptop that has Vista installed on it and a product key, but it has no install CD's.

Does anyone know how do I install Vista on my new laptop without no cds? ? Surely it has to be possible

The machine(s) will have OEM versions of Windows loaded on them which means that you cannot transfer from one machine to another using the same product key.

Product keys can be purchased but they cost the same as a new disk version of Windows so there is no point in going that route, just buy a copy of the Windows version you want to use on disk.

I don't understand why you like Vista but hate Windows 7 - because Windows 7 is a development from Vista and better in almost every way.

If I were in your shoes I would go back to Windows 7 and give it a fair chance.

W7 is definitely the best operating system to date as far as I am concerned. I gave Vista a miss on this computer when it was new because of hearing about all the problems with Vista. XP was good but W 7 is much better still.B)
