D4\/!d
Hello folks, I am considering getting a New Router.Dunno why really, it's just that the one I have is old, and maybe routers get a bit tired. The one I've got is a Netgear WGT624v3 108 Mbps Wireless Firewall RouterAs I say I've had it some years and just thought I ought to update it - but to what - if at all.Now I am gonna guess that we all have our fav brand and some folk will never touch a Netgear for this reason or for that. It seems that for every worthwhile router there is always one major bad review. Some folk swear by DLink or would never be without their Belkin.I am happy to stick with Netgear, which like all the others has its faults. The Router will be Wired to the modem/Desktop PC, but wireless is also needed for the laptop in the other room. Plus I am thinking of running a cable [the blue one whose name escapes me now] upstairs to the spare bedroom where there is another desktop that will not hold a wireless signal with dropping out. Grrhh.Anyway, any ideas for replacing the Router...Thanks,

AlanHo
I have the same WGT624 v3 as you.Never had a problem with it and it is connected the same as you need.My desktop and my wifes desktop via ethernet and our laptops/netbooks via wireless.I can seee no reason to replace mine - it works fine on my 20 Meg cable internet and a mix of Windows 7 and XP computers. D4\/!d
You and I must think alike Alan, we both have very similar set-ups.Right. While it works why fix it. Sorted. Thanks for your remarks.
-pops-
I have the same router as you both do. It sits in the corner and, well, just does its job and works - what more do I need?
baywatch
i don't know why you want to replace it if it works. linksys wrt54g with firmware upgrade to DD-WRT.or you can try router with external antenna and upgrade original antenna with stronger. check with google, i think it's cantenna or something like that.just to get an idea.
