XP Games Components missing

I have just re-formatted my fathers Laptop and got it all up and running for him, then he asks where the games are - I have no idea as I never play them.

So I go into windows components and they are simply not there, I have checked everywhere there but I have been told that they are supposed to be in the Accessories folder but I can't find it.

How do I re-install the missing windows components in order to install the games in Windows XP?

If you used a genuine installation disc, I cannot understand why the games are not there, they should automatically install. If you cannot see them in the start menu, try doing a search for games or microsoft games.B)

Thanks for the reply, yes it was a legit copy of disk; games are simply not there. I have tried to Google "microsoft games" but can find nothing that tells me how to install it from their web site.

If you put the disk in the drive I think you will get an option to add bits (can't remember the exact words) look for the games' tick the box and install them

Are you sure that it is not only missing shortcuts on the Start Menu ??

The games individual .exe files should be in C:\WINDOWS\system32

e.g. Freecell = C:\WINDOWS\system32\freecell.exe

Have you checked here to confim that features are enabled?
