bludgard Posted February 8, 2011 Report Share Posted February 8, 2011 Sorry to be of so little help,PSHOOTER.With what I ran across while browsing around,I would forward this to customer service.Here is a direct link...http://support.msi.com/.I offer this option for what I have found indicates a driver for XP (your previous operating system).Any drivers for Windows 7 seem to come from sources that I know nothing of.They do have a Live Update gizmo,but without a connection....There are other options that require third party programs.These should only be used as a last resort in my opinion so we'll see what customer support can do for you first.Keep us updated?Welcome to Windows Forum. Back to the storyline :PSHOOTER Having had a closer look at the specs on the 1036 I'm thinking that loading Windows 7 could well give you a machine with slower response times than you had with XP.MSI haven't given much away in respect of upgrading here have they ? ( 2GB RAM max for instance)Having said that. I have run Windows 7 on worse specs than you have with the 1036, and it has been fine.MSI have discontinued the model, and just cant be bothered to give any support by the sound of it. That's the way it's looking to me. I dont know about you ?Try the route I suggested. bludgard Posted February 8, 2011 Report Share Posted February 8, 2011 You may be able to download the driver using the program DriverMax.http://www.drivermax.com/The free version allows you two drivers a day for download/install.It may try to encourage you to install other software as well.Unless you want it,make sure you read through install.It will also place itself in your startup programs at boot.You can disable this but it will replace itself on next use.Or just uninstall the program once it has or has not found the driver needed.I have used this to advantage a couple of times.I do not make a habit of using this program nor do I encourage the use of it or similar programs.However,since there is no official support,it couldn't do much harm.I would also create a full image backup as a safety net.No need to go reinstalling in the event of machine meltdown.;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
