geordieklog
Hello Helpers! I've been given a Sony slv e800 to replace my present dikky recorder. unfortunatly without a USERS MANUEL. Can anyone help me out? I would step over to DVD, but I have a RETRO Wife! Thats Life!!.
-pops-
I'm somewhat doubtful that a manual is available now - the machine seems to be very old such that even dedicated manual suppliers don't supply as a stock item.I suggest that you persuade your wife to step into a more modern world. Remember that DVD has already been superseded by blu-ray (although, unlike tape, the systems are compatible).

Boris
My cousin had one of these - long since disposed of (and I've just checked that he does not stll have the manual :( )According to him, a very ingenious feature of the SLV-SE800 (for its time) was a Smart Dial Timer button, on the front panel, which let you programme the recorder in a few seconds. To programme the VCR - push the Smart Dial Timer button and the display will then show the selected date, time and channel. These variables can then be easily changed by turning the timer button one way or the other and when correct - a final push of the button sets the VCR.That is all he can recall , sorry.
