Penguinator
Hi everyone, I am brand new to this forum and hopefully my problem can be fixed with some help. I have tried searching for a sollution to no avail.I recently turned on my computer to find that I had lost my Vista themes. It had automatically chosen to display a Windows classic theme instead. I tried going into the display options to change the appearence, but when choosing the Windows Vista Basic color scheme, the example box shows nothing but a blank black box [example screenshot]. When trying to apply it, nothing changes.I have also tried selecting the Windows Vista theme from the theme menu, but it just shows the Windows Classic windows and bars instead of Vista/Aero [example screenshot].It is possible that I accidentally disabled a program in the "services" menu (where you disable programs from starting up) while trying to turn off my VNC server. This is the last thing I remember doing thre night before I had this problem. Thanks for any help that I can get. I am willing to do anything to get help with this. pawz7
one of these solutions might work - see this webpage/>http://www.fixya.com/support/t2275599-lost_vista_colors_themes_inor possibly do a system restoreor download Microsofts fixit utility, create an account and then explore the options on the web page specific to VistaHope this helps :)

Daryl Yong
I'm having a problem with my Vista theme too. I checked the services.msc and it says that the "themes" is set to "automatic", so I have to restart the themes service and it works. Is there a way to ensure the theme loads on startup? I find it very troublesome to keep going back to services to restart it. Thanks!
