doug
Just reporting in. Going through the post and I'm being done by Sunderland council for noise abatementand also being charged for an electrician to disconnect my alarm. Apparently it had been sounding off fo 3 days! Annoyed because it's serviced every year! Angry phone calls tomorrow!

doug
I always used to think they were adventures Gandalf. This year's "foreign" incicent went as follows:- Anne's electric buggy went with us, as usual, seemed OK 'till we went to le Castellet on the first Thurs, Parked and assembled and it was flatter than a pancake, battery fully charged but no go go. Anne need the loo so I had to pushe with the buggy in freewheel. Rang the people that supplied in back here in England - all the diagnostics negative.so they gave me an address in Nimes 'bout 150 miles away. Tues morn set off and got to Nimes but the city was being re-roaded, pile drivers and excavators everywhere, nowhere to stop and make enquiries. After much driving found a place to stop and rang the company for further directions. Went to start off and I reversed into anothe car. The driver was there with 3 others so we exchanged all the relevent details ans I set off again giving thanks that I always take out the full insurance whenever I hire a car. Got buggy fixed and rest of holiday OK.Journey back fair except at Nice airport their security arrangements for passing Anne's buggy was chaotic as usual. Mind at Newcastle things went a bit topsy turvey we were met at the plane and Anne wheeled through to baggage re-claim where we collected our cases and then waited and waited and waited for Anne's bugy to turn up. Which it did after I took us all out tp check in and said to a ticket clerk that we had arrived from Nice which landed at 5 passed 1 - "I know that because I checked the plane in" said the clerk. So I asked hime where the **** was my wifes Electric wheelchair which had been loaded into the front hold of the plane and it's now 4pm? After much telephoning the buggyn arrived and was told the plane baggage handlers had unloaded it and hust left it on th Tarmac. So that was it except ot arrive home to the Notice of Noise Abatement Proceedings from Sunderland Council.Somewhat sad holiday in that Dani has been with us for the last 13 years (she's now 15 going on 30) and we've been wondering as to how many years she would be coming out with us. The caravan where we stay is old, decrepit and falling apart. I always have to do running repairs. However, it's been Dani's Wendy House. She went through Dorothy - Wiz of Oz - The Borrowers and all sorts of stages out there. She has admitted that as she's that much older she's looking forward to holidaying with her friends in future. Mind she's off to Egypt with her Mum step-dad and sister in 4 days so she will have had a full summer. So Gandalf we have had many adventures abroad with our G'daughter and have been so lucky to have them with her.
Gandalph
I know what you mean about the Granddaughter Doug. I've got one that's Thirteen going on Thirty. There always comes a stage when they want to cut loose and do their own thing with their friends. All in all you had a good Holiday then with just a couple of glitches along the way. :D
doug
Tyeah. Highlight for Dani was her selling some jewelry she'd made. It started as a bit of a paying hobby (we provided her start up float - not sure we will see it back though). She's advertised on-line with only minor success. Rachel, in the caravan opposite to where we stayed had told her last year that if she brought anything with her she would set hrt up with a table in her Boutique - one room shop in le Castellet as Dani was making 3D cards last year. Anyway she brought some of her jewelry and I dropped her off at the Boutique at ~5pm. Didn't see her 'till 11 pm full of herself having sold 31Euro's worth! Also the local shop keepers always have a party on Thurs nights. So Dani had been stuffed with steak and Frites and pop while trying to converse with everybody.I chatted up a family from Thailand must say their English was much better than my Franglais. Only problem was they had been there a month and there was noise of laughter 'till the small hours.Lots of memories, probably back agin next year without Dani - sad end of an era.
