i have a 4-5 year old foxconn mobo with ubuntu and vista on same machine on same hd

i have a led read out on the mobo itself, 2 numbers that will let me know if there is something wrong with my pc

when i boot ubuntu 11.04 the numbers on mobo read 00 which is good

when i boot windows vista it reads f9 which is not in the foxconn manual for my mobo

My question is: what does f9 mean and does it mean my mobo is dying

is this a product of grub2 or vista updates ?

it happened in last 2 months, did not notice until 2 weeks ago

The LED readout is like the one they used to have on the old Socket A ABIT KT7 RAID (I think) mobos ?

What Foxconn model is yours?

By any chance this one ?

or similar

If so these are NVIDIA Added POST Codes

00 = Initialize hardware devices

and F9 as you say does not exist

I think I read somewhere that the NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI chipset with certain cards could cause chipset debug errors.

Have you updated your BIOS to the latest version using Fox LiveUpdate ?
