McSpermie
Hi, I recently had a java virus that seemed to be throttling my internet and causing it to drop out every couple of minutes. I went to bleeping computer and had it resolved. However, my internet is still not working. I try playing an online game and every minute or so I lose connection. What can I do to make my internet work again? I have Windows 7 64bit. Thanks in advance.
bludgard
Why have you closed your thread in BleepingComputer if the issue is not resolved? As BleepingComputer has malware specialist, I suggest you reopen the thread there and get your fix. If the instructions given are a bit much to follow, tell them so. Be patient, as malware issues can be a b**** to rectify. My suggestion is to recover the system from a previously created system/disk image. If that is not an option, reinstall the operating system clean.Hope this is helpful. bludgard
Quite fine. Come back anytime. Lots of fun stuff goin' on around here. I will follow your thread in BC and throw in if I can. Edit: The specialist probably meant for you to post in the Windows forum boards on BC. If you want to continue here, I'll try to get you sorted. Have you updated IE as requested? Remove (uninstall) all flash and Java programs and install IE9. Reinstall your flash player and Java. Reboot.

Reboot.Oh I think you might be right, thanks for explaining that. I have updated IE and reinstalled java/flash. Though I use chrome and firefox. It seems my internet is actually working pretty well, it might have just been the game I was playing. If any issues arise, I will edit my post here. Thank you for the help, I appreciate it. gladiolus
1 Open Internet Explorer. Click \"Tools\" on the toolbar, and then click on \"Internet Options.\" Make sure you are on the \"General\" tab and click the \"Delete\" button in the \"Browsing\" section. Click on \"Delete Files,\" \"Delete Cookies,\" \"Delete History,\" and \"Delete Forms.\" This will remove all of the temporary Internet files that can contain viruses... 2 Right click \"My Computer\" and click on \"Properties.\" Click the \"System Restore\" tab and select the \"Turn off System Restore\" checkbox. Click \"Apply\" and then \"OK.\" Many viruses copy files to your System Restore folder. Turning off System Restore will stop the virus from reinstalling when you restart your computer... 3 Click the \"Start\" button and then click \"Run.\" Type \"winmsd\" (without the quotes) into the \"Open\" box and click \"OK.\" Expand \"Software Environment\" by clicking the plus sign beside it. Click on \"Startup Programs.\".. 4 Check the programs in your \"Startup Programs\" against a list of reputable software and malware or viruses, which you can find online (see Resources). If you find any viruses in your \"Startup Programs,\" run an computer virus scan such as Trend Micro HouseCall or Panda ActiveScan.. 5 Remove the virus manually if the virus scan does not work and the virus begins with \"HKLM\\\" in your \"Startup Programs.\" To do this, click \"Start,\" then \"Run,\" and type in \"regedit\" (without quotes). Find the virus in the Windows Registry, select it and delete it.
