Recovery that you are trying only works if the Restore Partition still exists - has a previous owner deleted the Recovery Partition ? george riley Posted February 10, 2012 Author Report Share Posted February 10, 2012 Hi bludgard & Boris ive tried holding the ALT key and pressing the f10 nothing happens.Ill try & explain what has happened i did a system restore which went ok but when my machine stated back up if i click windows exp icon it says lost shortcut then searches for it cant find it.When ive tried to undo the last restore all i get is the system restore box with nothing in it. bludgard Posted February 11, 2012 Report Share Posted February 11, 2012 Edit: Do you have Windows install media for the machine? Run sfc /scannow from boot command prompt. Looks like purchasing recovery media from the manufacturer of laptop is in order. Or reinstall the OS and find the drivers for the hardware.
