MANEMAN Posted February 11, 2012 Report Share Posted February 11, 2012 Surfers Against Sewage ( http://www.sas.org.uk/ ) Levellers in Concert Was an event SAS put on here in Cornwall, where for the first time I attended a live gig by "The Levellers" ( http://www.levellers...uk/www/en/home/ ) The theme for that night was "Beach or Surfware". - I turned up in a pair of speedos and a black bow-tie. The following song was the opening number, they just walked on stage real quick, and started right into the number which caused a commotion that almost managed to crush me and my boy against the front of the stage. ( Never get right to the very front at a gig !) Everyone was stoned that night. Even if you didn't smoke the passed around spliffs (Which we did) you couldn't be off of breathing in the heavy concentration of MaryJane. Everyone was well behaved, and we only suffered bruised ribs and I got some crushed toes ( Never wear flip-flops to a gig !) I was a mere strip of a thing only 50 years of age back then.I've seen "Levellers" since at Exeter University (Seated :( ) and it wasn't half as much fun.
