Usually, the windows comes along with the mouse arrow while dragging. And while moving a folder or a file to another place, a black line comes to put it in the exact position. Both are not working in my computer. Till yesterday it worked smoothly. OS - Windows XP Pro SP2 Please help me out.
-pops-
Try a System Restore to a time before this happened - or re-install your system from your backup.
swalih
There's nothing to restore. I reinstalled my copy of XP yesterday due to some reasons.
-pops-
Till yesterday it worked smoothly. I reinstalled my copy of XP yesterday due to some reasons. Don't you think, then, that there is something wrong with your new install?
swalih
No. It's the same CD i used to install earlier.

swalih
bludgard, thanks for your help. But that didn't help. It's already enabled in my PC.
bludgard
Since you just installed recently, there may have been some corruption during the process; as -pops- (I think) is sugesting. It happens. Try it again. One could push on and try to man-handle the problem; depending on time allotment and/or fortitude. There is also SFC /SCANNOW and CHKDISK commands that may be used to troubleshoot and/or waste time. :0Are there any system or registry "optimixers" or "fixers" installed? Start > Run > type (or copy/paste) regsvr32 ole32.dll > Enter or OK.Start > Run > type (or copy/paste) regsvr32 /i shell32.dll > Enter or OK.Restart the computer. EDIT: On second look, it may be video related. Update or roll back the driver as needed.
-pops-
That is what I was suggesting. I have seen it happen several times.
bludgard
I thought so.... I have a disk that will install sometimes and sometimes not. Haven't had any problems when installing from USB HDDs or flash drives.
