Gandalph
Just came across this article in the Telegraph and was amazed when I read it. Is there any food that has been classified as alright to devour without causing any side effects.http://uk.lifestyle....-083154632.html
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
That has actually been known for a very long time.
Gandalph
Evidently not here in Britain Pat. If Canada has just found out, it seems it wasn't known to them either.I have a friend which is Diabetic and has heart problems, his philosophy is 'If it's bad for you, shove it down your neck'. It seems to work for him. :D
-pops-
I was warned not to eat grapefruit over 18 years ago when I began heart medication. Warnings were on the Patient Information Leaflet then and continue to be so. I wonder if anyone actually reads those leaflets that come with their prescribed medication or do they have implicit trust in their medical person - I know I don't, despite being in a family of medics!!!I think it's a case of the Telegraph being desperate for something to fill its pages. Note there was a big splash about it on the BBC website yesterday as well http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-20497086

There again I don't take tablets for Diabetes, Heart Conditions or Cholesterol etc,.When my Wife was alive she was on a cocktail of 19 different drugs for Cholesterol, Diabetes, Colitis, Fragmented spinal Discs, and the list goes on. I can never remember a Doctor telling her to avoid certain foods, although she was given different diet sheets over the years. Luckily grapefruit and cranberry where not on the diets she had to adhere to. I can't ever remember reading on the leaflets that came with the tablets about any food stuffs to avoid. There again it was quite a while back when I read these leaflets, my memory may be slipping.
