A S***load of money will be made from this move over the next 10-15 years. Such a pity that the Government didn't make a requirement that all receiving equipment for 4G must be manufactured in the U.K. before it was implemented.

It would have created a few jobs, and actually got Britain making something again.

Your present 3G phone will be dumped on a heap alongside all the old analogue satellite dishes and receivers that they convinced us were "Obsolescent Proof" a few years back and off you will trot to the new EE shop for your new bright and shiny 4G phone / Pad / Tablet.

I think progress is a good thing, and I am not being cynical, but all this extra manufacturing of Phones / Tablets / Pads / is actually increasing the carbon footprint that all the Governments in the world are supposedly trying to keep to a low level. - Lying buggers !

I'm very surprised at OFCOM releasing a frequency that will interfere with another. It is there job to allocate frequencies that do not interfere with other frequencies whether it be Harmonics or Second Channel interference. An on-going consultation is being sought by other frequency holders such as the BBC and ITV along with other TV networks as to why OFCOM have done this. OFCOM have said in the past that any interference caused by the release of the 4G network will be at the expense of the 4G Operator. e.g.they will have to pay for any filtering equipment needed to restore normal viewing to TV Stations. We will see.
