pamela1020
My computer has been locked with a password from when I first turn it on. As it is beginning to boot up, I cannot even start it in safe mode or anything like that. Is there any way to reset this or to get onto my computer without loosing all of my data on there? Please help me. I included a pic of what I am referring to here.Thank you!
Boris
It appears that you or someone else have somehow managed to turn on in the BIOS a secure log-on Password option ? Has anyone else had access to the laptop or been playing with the BIOS settings ?
pamela1020
Yes, unfortunately I have a vindictive "friend" who enjoys f-ing up my life. I wanted to get past this without giving him the satisfaction of me calling him. Is this possible?
Boris
In my experience - no :( I have been asked to solve this particular problem 3 or 4 times before, and if a BIOS password has been set, even removing the motherboard battery or clearing the CMOS by jumpers does not set the BIOS back to default settings, and enable you to regain access. I believe that the laptop manufacturer can reset it for you - if you can prove ownership of the laptop (obviously anyone illegally acquiring such a "secure" laptop will not be able to do so). I do not know if they charge for this service.
