Acronis Backup Deleting Old Versions

Have just started using this, the WD version, & am a bit confused about deleting old versions & do not want to make an error.

I think is what I have to do is to go to the version I want to delete & either click on the gear wheel & select delete; or select the title of the version I want to delete & right click & select delete.

But this is what the User Manual says:-

To delete a specific backup version

1 On Backup & recovery tab, find the corresponding backup box, click Explore & recover

2 In Backup Explorer, right click on the time line the version you want to delete & then click delete version.

Am I about to do the delete correctly or about to make a big error?

Why do you want to delete old backups - is the space on your backup disk so limited?

I usually keep backups for at least a year or so. In fact, I do no even remember deleting any old backups.

Yes external drive is only 320 Gb

I have always used the right click on said backup and then delete and never had a problem.

Thanks, have decided to right click onto the gear wheel & then select delete.
