andsome
I always use IE, but cannot post picture here with that program, but can with the dreaded Firefox. The problem that I don't like with FF is how new tabs will notb open the same as my Home psge, GOOGLE. This is what a new tab opens up like. Any way of getting round this please. Someone once told me of a quick fix, but I have forgotten it. The FF foim offers a solution, but I cannot follow what they are trying to tell me. bassfisher6522
So what did you do to sort it out?
Lamb Chop
Careful Hansome you may just get addicted to Firefox.
andsome
I followed this advice given on another forum. Lamb Chop, there is NO chance of addiction. I mush prefer IE. I've read about another way of overcoming this without using an extension: * Open the browser on the homepage and copy the URL.* Open a new tab.* Using the page opened by the new tab, type about:config into the URL Bar.* Press Enter.* Click the I'll be careful, I promise! button.* Type, browser.newtab.url into the page's search box (not the URL Bar).* Double-click on the entry that comes up.* A box will open.* Paste the homepage URL into the box (deleting/overwriting what is already there).* Click OK and close the about:config page tab.Selecting 'Open a new tab' from then on will open a new tab with your homepage showing. Not quite as easy to set up as using an extension but the fewer extensions the better I often think ..and it only has to be done once.To return the 'Open a new tab' to its default condition:* Go back to the browser.newtab.url line in about:config* Right-click on it.* Choose Reset from the menu
bassfisher6522
I don't have that issue....I'm using the latest version, version 30. I see there is and update and it's now version 31. This is what my homepage and new tab pages look like.
bassfisher6522
Chrome does the same crap as well and I don't like that either....I've been using FF for the past 2 years now and love it.
Lamb Chop
Don't want that page? Go to options in FF - Change to from menu - show a blank page. Voila - gone.
andsome
I didn't want a blank page, I wanted my home page which is Google, showing Google search in the centre.
