andsome
Did you realise just how much information is held about you? Following a recent spat with Currys finance company, I downloaded my credit rating. It shows a loan I had many years ago for furniture, paid in full on time. It shows my bank account and my last two bank accounts. It shows my credit card limit and the fact that it has been settled in full and on time for the last four years, together with the amount spent each month. My previous bank account is shown as having been closed by me with no outstanding loans etc. It shows my loan from Honda finance paid in full up to the present date. It shows a previous credit card that I took out and never used. My account with Virgin Media is also shown, as is my phone details from Orange for my mobile, and the payments record on this account. I never realised that the amount I spend each month on my credit card, and on other bills would be shown. Why are all these details together with amounts public knowledge for anyone who wants to buy them? It is frightening.
Irene
:0 I had no idea about that! I have never looked at my 'credit rating'.
Gandalph
I don't know who you checked it with andsome, but mine shows none of that. It only shows my current status of how much I was billed and how much I paid over the last six years. There is nothing about Bank accounts or the like. andsome
I am not really interested normally. I just wanted to know why I was turned down by the finance firm that Currys use after they had suggested that I didn't pay by credit card, but accept six months interest free credit. A I said it turned out tthat the rating given to me by Equifax was their highest EXCELLENT rating, and yet Creation Finance company turned me down???????? wrong
They probably turned you down because you were likely to pay it off and so they would not make anything out of you.
andsome
I have since heard so many bad reports of that company, including adding an extra 10% to the bill.
