Damo
Can a windows 98 SE Upgrade Disc be used to do a clean install on an empty machine?
Guest
yes, providing you have the win95 disk available when the install routine asks for it.
moon
Didn't work fo me. I had to load the 98 disk ( in my case) first before 98SE would load. Mine is a 98SE Upgrade.
andsome
As far as I can see it will not contain all the files, if it is only an upgrade disc.
Tony
As Morpheus saysJust start the setup as you normally would, then a couple of mins into it, it will ask you to insert your Win 95 or Win 98 Full version disks for a validity check.Once you put the disk in it will take a few seconds and then ask you to put the Win 98 Se disk back in, then the installation will carry on and you will have the FULL install of 98se on your system. All the bestTony
