gordythegouge
Hi,can anyone help with problems installing Windows 10? Download it, no problem, however, I only get as far as 60% install before I get this error C1900101-40017 and basically, goes back to my Windows 7 Home Premium. It's a Medion laptop, processor speed would appear not to be a problem, not sure about available RAM but there's plenty if I shut everything down and Hard Disk space is definitely not an issue.Suggestions? (No rude ones please lol) Gordy
Irene
Looks like a successful suggestion here:http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-win_upgrade/i-cant-upgrade-to-windows-10/5b9f1e74-1c94-4ac1-94a5-3bf46e1ee063?auth=1 You may try performing a clean boot and then initiate the update process to check if any third party program is conflicting. A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue. You may refer the following KB article to put the computer in clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 If your issue is resolved after performing Clean Boot, then follow the steps mentioned in the above KB article to narrow down the exact source. Also, after resolving the issue, see the section on the clean boot link to how to return your computer to a Normal startup mode by following the steps under “Reset the computer to start as usual. Also, refer to the article:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates#1TC=windows-7 Another suggestion here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates#1TC=windows-
Gandalph
Another suggestion here: Stick with Windows 7 or 8 for the next six Month's till they get some of the bugs sorted out of it. According to some IT Professionals I know, "It's not ready for deployment yet." Their words.
