andsome
My old computer has packed up,it was a 32bit Windows seven machine. I am awaiting delivery of a new windows ten 64bit machine on Friday. Will Acronis 2010 formerly downloaded to my old machine run on the new one?
Boris
Keith, PER THEIR SUPPORT PAGES https://kb.acronis.com/content/56196 "Support of Windows 10 will not be implemented into older versions of Acronis products (e.g. Acronis True Image 2014 or older), as Acronis development team works on the current versions only. Stable functioning of older products on Windows 10 is not guaranteed. " However, I suggest that you just try it and if your existing Acronis 10 works you wil have saved a few quid :) My own version, which is also pre TI 14 still seems to work fine. PS if you have any spares from your old machine that you would like to donate to my charitable builds, please let me know.
andsome
Many thanks,I will try it. You can have everything, case as well except the hard drives, which I will destroy. Do you have any means of collecting from Burntwood In Staffordshire?

AlanHo
Andsome I tried using my Acronis 2010 on both my win 10 laptop and desktop. I thought all was well until I deided to restore my laptop one day and it went tits up. I then tried a dummy restore on my desktop and it would not recognise any of the Acronis 2010 back-ups. I therefore put my hands in my pocket and bought Acronis 2016 which works fine on both machines. I used the WF discount code by purchasing from their Forum agent
Boris
Don't forget - if your H/D is a Seagate or Western Digital you can get their version of Acronis free e.g. http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?p=
andsome
Not sure as to the make of the two hard drives, other than that they are SSD drives. I am not over happy with installing an old 32bit program on a 64 bit machine, after thinking abou it,and am considering a free alternative. Regarding the old machine,I will destroy both hard drives. You expressed an interest in the remains for recycling into re builds. I have no viable means of getting them to you,and they are probably too old at about eight years to be much use.
