AlanHo
Things are hotting up - are they not. Chaos reigns in parliament The population is confused and angry - whichever way they voted in the polls The deal done with the EU seems to satisfy no-one But - hey guys - this is a divorce and who ever ever got all they wanted in a divorce. I speak from experience. Why don't the government make it very clear that it is the best we are going to squeeze out of the EU at this time. It satisfies most of the promises made for the referendum. Let us grab it while we can - safe in the knowledge that there is nothing stopping us having another referendum in say 5 or 10 year's time to cut the few ties that remain. catgate
Why do we not have a proper system of government, that would really "consult" those who pay their stipends, rather than a self seeking hoard/assembly with little to do other than obey orders as and when instructed by their self seeking leaders. I can't think going back in history where there was ever a country to match your ideals. Plenty of people have reached the position of leader and promised to give people a true say in their affairs - but the power soon went to their head and they became insular at best and despots at worst. The present problem is that most the MP's are not taking orders - or even following the wished of their constituents - they are all following their own selfish agenda and bugger the populace.
