Outlook 2000 annoyance

Recommended Posts

I'm using a PC with outlook 2000 & Win 98. Cannot seem to get rid of the email address from the 'From' field when sending an email.

Eg : Account name is Fred Bloggs, email address is [email protected].

When an email is received, the 'From' field contains ...

Fred Bloggs [[email protected]]

I have another PC running Outlook 2002 and Win XP and this is sorted by the 'Your Name' field in account settings. Also, in outlook express this is easily done.

Last time I was using the outlook 2000 pc, I'm sure I checked every setting in the account to no avail.

Any ideas ??

Thre Grim Reaper is right. I was trying to remove the address portion from the From field, leaving the actual name. So, instead of showing ...

Fred Bloggs [[email protected]]

... it only shows the name part, ie, Fred Bloggs.

I'm not infront of this PC at the mo', but I'm sure the 'Your name', or display name (whatever the field's called in account setup) didn't have the email address tagged on the end.

It looks like it's appending the email address used in the account setup regardless of what's entered in the Display / Your Name fields.
