andsome
Nope...... just cant get any further than the error messageMaybe you have the same trouble I had when I could not get into the forum on one occasion. Ask NTL for a proxy server, or try the one they gave me.In internet options/connections/Lan settings. Tick Use a proxy server. then enter these numbers. 62.253.32.4 PORT 8080In Outlook Express/Tools/Accounts/Properties/servers.POP account enter 62.253.162.50SMTP account enter 62.253.162.40You cannot do any harm as long as you remember the current settingsAll the best
nellie2
Thanks for the tip andsome.... I reformatted last night.. no change so I tried the proxy server.... that didn't work either!! I'm stumped! :(
andsome
Thanks for the tip andsome.... I reformatted last night.. no change so I tried the proxy server.... that didn't work either!! I'm stumped! :(It could be that as you are in a different NTL area, that my proxy does not work. Why not phone NTL, it's only a local call on the broadband helpline, they are there 24/7, and ask them to talk you through entering a local proxy. I could get EVERY other website except WF when I had my bother, and the proxy server solved it. I have now reverted back to my old settings as NTL obviously updated locally.
