Craig
I did hope to have a new website design / layout available for you all today, however the windows forum host has not updated the account yet.So while I wait around for the host to sort things out, would you like to tell me what you would like to see on the new site?Things I can think of at the moment include the introduction of a new tutorial section and a reviews section.I would also like to improve the way the news section is updated.* * *In simple terms, just post here what new things you would like to see, what improvments should be made, and what should be taken away!* * *Thanks,Craig. Prince of Calcutta
i like the way you've displayed the number of users in the chat room at the forum :) how about merging the "off topic" and "mad house" rooms ? and a few extra links for "next thread" and "previous thread" in addition to "next newest" link on top of the thread? Craig
'The Mad House' is an off-spring of 'Off The Topic'.This was because the 'off the topic' board was getting filled with posts that started going way off the topic! So to keep it under control, 'the mad house' was created to keep those sort of topics and posts seperate from those in 'off the topic'.So for the time being i shall leave both boards up and running. With regards to the extra links for the topics, i see where you are coming from, but that isn't something i can do myself. I will mention it to the invision board team back at their site. And thank you for the comment on the chat room link! Only took me 45 mins to add! Craig
Prince of Calcutta, just found out that the 'my assistant' link at the top right of the page will give you the option to see todays active topics.
Guest PC Eejit
Here's my ideas, for what they are worth:The "Other Operating Systems" bit is dying on it's arse. There's been one thread and that was started by me :D This section could easily be covered by "Software".Also, the "Peripherals" section is very skinny too - I'd let it fall under "Hardware".That's 2 sections binned now which could free up more space for other stuff.Hope this helps
Craig
I'll do that now PC Eejit.I was thinking along the same lines earlier.
mark2
I think I would agree with Pceejit regarding the other O/S section, much as I like tinkering with linux we are WINDOWS forum
Guest Nellie2
Errr perhaps you could have a 'useful links' bit. Somewhere where we could post adresses of interesting things we have come across. You could even categorise it.....updates, good free stuff, drivers, funny stuff, etc etc.Just a thought!! :)
Boris
If you're changing things ? - any mileage in a "I no longer need this, but someone might" or "Has anyone got a spare ?" for Members Only to dispose of/acquire surplus bits ? (Even with my old/donated kit, I've got some ancient odds + ends !!)
peter e
Hi all :D Some good ideas there. I enjoy visiting this site (I just wish I knew a bit more about the technical things people talk about). I would like to see a board for digital cameras/imaging etc and then I could ask lots of questions - but maybe that's covered under hardware and software.Keep up the excellent work, Craig (and mods).(incidentally, when I visited the site tonight, I found I was all ready logged in - again. And yesterday I deleted all my cookies). (It doesn't matter, though - I'm just curious as to why it happens).Pete
Guest whizwrinkly
Not sure if it would work, but how about a "Todays updates (or this weeks)" section? There have been three AdAware, two Microsoft, and a SpywareBlaster updates in the last couple of days that I have downloaded.Maybe members could post any they find for different products in a special section. This would prevent double postings, and missing any if they are spread about the site. <_< Could be useful? cheers, whiz...
Guest Mundy
Excellent idea whizwrinkly; could this be achieved by having a sticky post for each update, say in the software section? :)
Prince of Calcutta
whizwrinklyi think that the news section is meant to cover the latest updates etc?

Agent Smith
Yep, have to admit, I like the grey. How about the possibility of having both (or more), as skins and allowing users to select their preference? And how about a speelchucker? ;) Mr. M. Agent Smith
A serious suggestion  this time. At the top right of each post, is an arrow to take you to the top of the page. How about one to take you to the end of a page?Mr. M.
Prince of Calcutta
till craig gets around to doing that you can do it by pressing the end key on your keyboard ;)
Agent Smith
You can also press the home key to get to the top, but as we have an "up arrow" we might as well have a "down arrow" :D Mr. M.
