Tony
Hi allI am going to be doing my forums again, and was just wondering what forum software you like the best out of all the forums you guys visit. At the moment i am using Invision Power Board (same as here)If you are not sure what the software a forum is using normally if you scroll down to the bottom of the Forums main page it should say "Powered By ......."I am looking for ease of use, functions and reliability.Above is all the ones i know off, if you like one that is not listed please post a link so i can go and have a look at it.Thanks for your timeTony
Damo
I voted PhpBB....I've used it in the past and found it excellent....easy to use and navigate round, whatever you do stay clear of ezboards and Yabb and also proboards! :D
Tony
ThanksBut just out of interest why do you say stay away from Yabb, i know that it is a cgi based forum, but the main forum i visit is a Yabb powered forum, and it seems ok, for a user at least.CheersTony
Damo
It's nothing more than a personal dislike of the layout, It might be easy to work backstage but I just don't like the look of it! :o
Guest Shirley_Crabtree
I have to say I agree with Damo...I prefer the layout of Phpbb and the way it all works.Yabb boards always look a little "amateurish" to me.All bells and whistles but basically "amateurish"Shirl. expertec
I don't much like YaBB boards either
cocoon
I use EZ Board for the simple reason that it is so easy for the person running it. If you don't like the way it looks you can change it with the click of a button. It suits me, only having a small forum. I dont have to spend time messing about with the inner workings of it. moon
Invision for me. In fact, this place seems so efficient that I've recommended Invision to other peeps just starting up. :)
Tony
HiWell i have been perfectly happy running Invision as my forum software, but as i am reinstalling it all, i just wondered if there was any thing better out there.I have posted this question on half a dozen forums and most of the results seem to suggest that Invision is peoples best choice.CheersTony
