-pops- Posted February 10, 2004 Report Share Posted February 10, 2004 Anyone shed any light on wmiprsve?I came to my machine a few minutes ago to find the HDD thrashing about. On checking task manager wmiprsve was using 30% of the CPU capacity. It stopped after about 5 minutes and has now disappeared without trace - I've searched all the drives and come up with nothing. A Google gives a few links to German sites that suggest it's a Trojan but I've run a², Ad-aware, Spybot S&D and AVG7 just in case and they come up clean. :( Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tankus Posted February 10, 2004 Report Share Posted February 10, 2004 Just run a file search on both my hard drives ....nothing found ...Id be tempted to do a reference point on system restore ...and delete it ...see what happens....Then again I don't know what I'm doing half the time .... as for the other half I just guess ....30% is a lot of resouces ...? Gone without a trace (that I can find).I haven't run a HiJack this.
