All was well last night.Anyway all gone now - only the one file involved - I saved it instead of opening it, luckily. Agent Smith Posted March 4, 2004 Report Share Posted March 4, 2004 Nellie, I can pretty much guarantee that any virus infected email anybody receives at the moment (esp the Netsky variants), will not have come from the name in the from box in the email. Most modern virii "spoof" the address they purport to come from.You will need to delve into the mails headers and retrieve certain IP information, which you can then run through somewhere like Samspade (although that site seems to be a bit iffy at the moment) to try and locate where the mail actually came from.Anyway all gone now - only the one file involved - I saved it instead of opening it, luckily. AVG did it's job well. Artist. I personally would not be too impressed if my AV software allowed the virus into my mail box in the first place :( Does AVG scan incoming mail? And if so, have you got it set to do so?At the moment, most big AV houses are issuing near daily updates.
