Andy, just in case you are wondering why you may be wanting to switch, here are a few links to browse.

PS My preference is for NTFS, but be warned, if you wish to play when things go wrong, you will need specialist tools, as NTFS is not viewable in standard DOS.

Start/All programs/Accessories/Command Prompt......and type the following:

C:\> CONVERT C: /fs:ntfs

Where C: is the name of the drive you want to convert.

After machine re-boot conversion process will start and you'll have your FAT32 converted to NTFS.

Always back-up first, just in case.

Ok, first off, you should ideally have a space between the drive letter you wish to convert (G:) and the /fs:ntfs switch.

Next, you are being told that something is currently running, which is using drive G:

I suggest that you reboot, and turn off all running programs including anti-virus. Actually, thinking about it, you may as well bootstraight into safe mode and do it from there.

If it asks again, say yes, it will then dismount the volume in order to start the conversion process.
