Agent Smith Posted March 27, 2004 Report Share Posted March 27, 2004 Andy, in a nutshell, yes you can convert from fat to ntfs.But, you need to have some free space on the disc(for M$ fail safe guidelines, as much free space as the data you wish to covert), and it is not reversible.Mr. M. Agent Smith Posted March 28, 2004 Report Share Posted March 28, 2004 Ok, first off, you should ideally have a space between the drive letter you wish to convert (G:) and the /fs:ntfs switch.Next, you are being told that something is currently running, which is using drive G:I suggest that you reboot, and turn off all running programs including anti-virus. Actually, thinking about it, you may as well bootstraight into safe mode and do it from there.If it asks again, say yes, it will then dismount the volume in order to start the conversion process.Mr. M.
