how do you know its working?

Good man B)

If you ran the graphical Windows client, there should be a little red icon in the systray. Click it to view progress. Otherwise go to the F@H folder and look at unitinfo.txt or fahlog.txt.

 You should've downloaded a work unit to do...are you behind a firewall? If so allow it access, and open port 8080 (not that I know how to do that).

Edit: Ah there we go :)

Unless you want to fold for another team (many forums have a team, if you're active at one, join up) otherwise set the team to 36329 and join Offtopic...we've risen to the 800's from 36,329th in under two weeks :)

Nice one Andy :)

BTW, as an advanced warning, that protein you have there takes a good 36 hours at least to finish - and some take longer. Don't be worried thinking it's going slow or anything. If you log off or reboot then it saves itself and you won't lose more than 15 minutes' work.

36 Hours? :o

The longest i've ever taken on any WU, I think, is less than 30 hours max and those where Tinkers. Gromacs are preferred but I just fold whatever the server dishes out. Recently I got a whole string of Double Gromacs... those where annoying suckers, the points where crap compared to the work.

Here is one huge 160 pointer:
