Tankus
The Independent Tony Blair moved to stave off the biggest backbench rebellion of his career by promising yesterday to find a "solution" for thousands of workers who lost their pensions when their companies became insolvent. andsome
I would like to bet that the directors of these company's are still 'VERY comfortable thank you'.
trackrat
I lost a lot of money through having AVC`s with Equitable life and suprise suprise when the goverment regulaters looked into it ( because they were supposed to regulate these companies ) they found the government was not liable to pay compensation. This does not affect my pension but it means I will have to work more years than I intended to make up the shortfall from the loss of the AVC money. The directors are all retired now on big fat pensions, but the working man who saved money into these AVC`s so he could retire earlier has lost out and as usual the government whitewash investigation says NO COMPENSATION.I would bet if it was the MP`s pensions or AVC`s their would be compensation. djohn
It's a disgusting situation, I feel so sorry for all the people who have worked hard and saved hard through their lives to be treated this way.
