Hurdy
BBCThe House of Commons has been suspended during Prime Minister's question time after what appeared to be purple powder was thrown at Tony Blair. Mr Blair was speaking at the Despatch Box during his weekly half-hour appearance in the chamber when what appeared to be something like a balloon filled with purple powder hit him on his back. nellie2
Where did that come from then? The public gallery?? What was it supposed to achieve? I'm all for having a say but that sort of thing doesn't achieve anything... it only manages to alienate and isolate our politicians from the people they are meant to serve even more. djohn
Missed him completely and landed on the floor near Gorden Brown's foot. Storm in a teacup really.Apparently it was a member of "Fathers for justice" that threw the powder, [purple colour] watched it live on SKY. They are all making a big fuss of it now but it really was a small incident. The way the news casters are describing it at the moment you'd think they were watching a different program than I was.!
Agent Smith
Ah, but it could so easily have been some form of nerve toxin :( We should be so lucky  Mr. M.

expertec
The person who threw it was a guest of a member of The House Of Lords
djohn
Yep! Hurdy. After watching 500 replays of the shot! It does appear to have brushed his left lower shoulder as this is the point were you see the powder expand but it wasn't like they were first making it out.The news readers were saying a direct hit on the PM and that he was visibly shaken and winced as the "Missile" struck him. To me and I'm sure you will see the replays later, he appeared not to notice that it had struck him. and was about to carry on talking when the Speaker of the house called for a retreat!

nellie2
well they do but apparently, until today, there were seats in front of the glass that could be occupied by people with a personal recommendation from a peer. Think they are changing that rule now!!! B)
