-pops- Posted June 5, 2004 Report Share Posted June 5, 2004 What word processing/graphics programs do you have installed?Most word processors will have the facility for making templates for letterheads and things like MS Publisher will contain templates for business cards and other such things.Have a look at what's available from Avery for very good FREE software for a number of labels, business cards and suchlike.Regarding the printer, if you want good results, nothing old would be appropriate. I'm just wondering if I'm not better off going to the printing shop - depending on paper choice and number of colors, business cards aren't that expensive. I'll look through the MS templates, though. catgate Posted June 5, 2004 Report Share Posted June 5, 2004 You could try Serif Page Plus x (where x is the older version of what they are currently selling). You will find it on cover CDs or even on their web site. They seem to bring out a new version of each of their software packages fairly frequently, and use the replaced version as a give away "loss leader". You will find that you have to telephone them to "register" in order to get rid of the "pester screen", at which time you will be told that you should really buy their expensive manual. Fortunately this is neither necessary not obligatory. All their programs are fairly standard in their intuativeness and they are very good. I use Page Plus 5 at present and it is really very little different to its predecessor. I am sure I do not know what number is current. Good Luck. Damo Posted June 5, 2004 Report Share Posted June 5, 2004 Why do it yourself?Go to http://www.vistaprint.com they do 250 free business cards with about 20 different designs, all you pay is$8 postage.Or for $4.99 you can get 250 premium cards which have literally thousands of designs.
