pwp
i don't know if it's because i'm leaving my machine on 24/7but since i installed folding @ home i have been having a few problems.i have a black box that shadows the cursor that madboy has mentioned.my desktop has frozen but not all at once the application seemed to go downone by one till nothing would work.a reboot sorted it.this morning it started again when replying on the forum clicked the show allon the emotions and it froze up. tried to shut it in task manager but it would not open so i logged off and back onand all ok again fingers crossed.the only new thing i've loaded is f@h is anybody else having probs. Gagaman
I'm folding quite some time now... never had a problem with it.Maybe shut down the folding for a couple of days, to see if folding is causing it.edit:*Sounds more like some virus or so??!!
andsome
No problems with the folding program whatsoever.
bvw
I get the black box effect and you have to keep an eye on your Restore Points in XP, as Andsome said.Other than that no problems :)
Tony
HiI am getting the same problems as you are, since installing folding at home, so at the moment unless i can find away of sorting it all out and making my system stable again, it looks like i will uninstalling it.My PC has always been on 24/7 so i know it is nothing to do with that.CheersTony
Andy-2004
Your Pc may have been on 24/7 before but not running at 100 %,I think that frequent reboots, I.e once in the morning, once at night,Would give you fresh memory and in theory fix any problems
pwp
thanks for the replies will monitor it for a bit longer and see how it goes.i am pretty sure its not a virus as i've used panda, a2, have avg and runspybot, adaware, spywareblaster the black box effect is definitely something to do with folding asit was reported before i loaded f@h and i didn't have it. the black box appeared as soon as i installed f@h.you posted as i was replying Andy will do that and see how it goes.
