They might just as well not bother with the game, and have a penalty competition instead. How can you settle a game of 45 minutes each way, plus extra time, by penalty kicks, it's absolutely crazy. Surely a far better way is a sudden death goal. Sure, the odd game may go on for ages, but they get more than enough money, and sooner or later one team will slip up, just from sheer fatigue. Not only is high-level football desparate for goal-line video but this ref. deserves to be pilloried and persecuted until he quits the game. UEFA should withdraw him from the tournament now and put their hand up to a selection blunder.EDIT The tournament needs video monitoring and non-European referees to regain its credibility.
