CWShredder may have reached its limits but that doesn't mean that the anti-spyware experts are letting up. They are coming up with new idea's and fixes daily...... so as long as you do your best to protect yourself... then we will do our best to help you out if you get caught unawares. Scarecrow Man Posted June 29, 2004 Report Share Posted June 29, 2004 But prevention is better than cure.Maybe there should be more of an emphasis on this?The only problem is, to effectivly 'keep bad things out of your computer', you'd either have to unplug your internet connection, or turn your computer off.Seriously.The only way to really stop viruses and stuff like that is to privitize software, meaning ONE company makes the OS. ONE company makes a document editing program. ONE company makes a graphic editing program.I'm sure M$ wants nothing but this, but as users, we want a choice. A choice to pick the flawed software, the software with a few bugs, but more features. We always want bleeding edge technology, and if we spend so much time getting something that's better, rather than improving what we have, it's going to be an ongoing battle.Basically what I'm saying is you can't 'prevent' bad things from happening. They happen to good and bad people alike, but if your smart you can avoid some of them, maybe even tell others about how to avoid them. BUT because of endless possibilities in programming (like AI) we will never be truly safe. I'll leave you with this,If you have it, with a little work, I can to.
