linc Posted July 9, 2004 Report Share Posted July 9, 2004 Nottingham council have been capped by St Tony and his Choir forgoing over the permissable amount of council tax by £180.000.00.Out of a budget of millions, £300.000.000. [three hundred mill] I think.Thay have said that they can adjust the amount but have been told that they are capped and ' here's the kicker' it's going to cost them more to collect than theywill collect.So the poor people of Nottingham have to dig further into their pockets because the Choir won't let them change their budget..If the idea is to get a labour council in Nottingham next year it may well rebound on them. It is only when the making of decisions is delegated to a few, rather than their being made by the whole community, that corruption can occur. Unhappily this is the state of all world 'government', be it capitalist, communist, fundamentalist or any other ......ist you can think of. The clue is in the "ist".
