I would point out that most of the water is drunk to wet the mouth. You cannot take in enough air through the nostrils so you have to breath through the mouth which dries up rapidly. This not only enables plenty of air to be consumed but also the occasional morsel of protein - flys and other tasty insects.

Hope you didn't have to pay for the call andsome. That would defeat the object I had when I set it up, to minimize the additional cost to anyone donating.

On that issue I was told that for charities the bank would even provide one of those special "donation" cheques. I thought that's a good idea. When the time came to hand over to the hospital I bowled down to the bank and asked for the account to be closed and a "donation" cheque to be made out to the hospital. That will cost £10 i was told. B******** that I said and made out a personal cheque to the hospital. Didn't think the publicity was worth costing the fund a tenner.

Telephone banking with HSBC is at the cost of a local call. I make transfers, pay the odd bill, where I don't have a direct debit, and get account balances.

Our normal bill with NTL is for the line rental plus £15. This covers all land line calls in the UK. As our total bill including line rental used to be around £30 a month this is a bargain for us, at £25 per month total, and includes umpteen TV channels as well.
