expertec
If the light is on constantly, the data cable is the wrong way round.
-pops-
Check again that the cable is connected the right way round.Often, a constantly on light is a sign that the cable is wrong either at the M/B or the drive end. Don't forget to check both ends :)

Andy-2004
you mean the connector is in upside down, or the m/b end is at the floopy end?
-pops-
Could be any of those. Connector may be upside down at M/B end or drive end or it could be back to front..
Boris
Split end of cable should be connected to FDD.If you have a 2 FDD connector at one end of the cable - use the end one
