djohn
Talking of monkeys and tea! I think the two were linked in this thread somewhere? Lost track with all the quotes. It reminded me that the advert you used to see on TV for PG tips with the monkeys.Anyone remember the lady on the front of the tea box who bent down to take a leaf from the bush? Also her photo was on every box of PG tips tea sold in all the stores right up until last year. The original shoot was done back in the 70's.Well she is my sister-in-law! :)

djohn
Yep! She is my wifes brothers wife. so sister-in-law by marriage. Both of them were models in the late 60's - 70's he would often be seen on the TV commercials advertising the front page of the next days Sun or Mirror newspaper. In the mid 70's He was chosen to model for the glass sculpture that was to go on show in the [i think] Science museum in London because he had what was considered the perfect body. The sculpture was one that you could press buttons on a console for various parts of the body to light up and a description and explanation would come up on screen. :blush:She was offered a one off fee of £1500 at the time or £250 and a percentage on every viewing of the advert. She chose the latter and right up until last year would receive a cheque every three months. The latter cheques were for a sum of £800 to £1000 but when the comercials were really populer in the late 70's through to the early 90's she was earning over £30,000 each year! B) The payments stopped when her face was removed from the commercial and the boxes.
