-pops- Posted November 2, 2004 Report Share Posted November 2, 2004 I don't use help files very often but I wanted some info from Nero this morning so, clicking on the help button I got the message "Cannot find xxxxx. Do you want to look for the file yourself? Clicking "No" I then received a message to reinstall the files. I checked all the Nero subsidiary programs and got the same message from all of them.I re-installed Nero (I already had the latest updates so I installed again). Same "Cannot find - - " message came up.This is not a desperate plea, as I said, I only consult Help files very rarely but, is this a problem unique to me or is it Nero in general?I would be interested if anyone else has the same.N.B All the operating parts of Nero I have installed work perfectly OK. I discovered it in Cover Designer but the same this happens with all the Nero programs I have installed.Thanks for the responses - glad it's not just me.I did have a chemistry drawing program one in another machine which took over all help files and whichever program I happened to be in, if I wanted help, it would direct me to methods of 3D projection drawing of steroids. One of the members (-pops-) posted a request for assistance on how to update the nerostartsmart.hly help file. Great news - I think! After playing with the nero 6.6.0.3 display, I discovered that when you activate the icon labeled nero startsmart, you must click the silver half knob on the left side of nero's display window. This will activate "open with nero express" function. YOU now have linked the help file to the upper right HELP button. It now works. I'm still having problems when I close the nero window. Windows displays a "drop down" window :nerostartsmart.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. HELP< HELP - on the closing nero problem.
