Nem1 Posted November 6, 2004 Report Share Posted November 6, 2004 With these settings your windows will go faster...Hope u all can use it...Start with making a new Logical Partition ( Around 5gb ), NTFS or FAT32, doesnt matter... Format it and compress files..Then, go to system properties -> Advanced -> Environment VariablesHere you will see some windows paths.. Whe are going to change some..Look at User variables, there you will see tmp and temp, whe need to change those paths to your new Logical Partition.Then, at system variables, search for tmp and temp to, and change them to your new Logical Partition.Now Apply, and oke..Go back to System Properties, advanced, now go to preformance settings, advanced, Virtual memory change, and set your windows drive page file / virtual memory to none, then pix a random partition, i prefer your Logical Partition, and set virtual memory to min: 768 and max: 1536mb..Apply and click oke... you need to reboot your computer and Voila.. Nem1 Posted November 7, 2004 Author Report Share Posted November 7, 2004 I got, my win partition ( C: ) On Hd #1 and my temp s*** ( F: ) On Hd #2... So its not the same drive... This way its works the best, because your computer can use full hard drive speeds to make the temps, not less, it will use less if its on the same Hd.. Because if your windows, or other things will use the hd speed, the temp files arent writed as fast as on a other drive, because the other drive wont be used for windows, or games ( unless you have the games on the same drive.. ) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
