homecomputeraid Posted December 8, 2004 Report Share Posted December 8, 2004 Well folks, I've downloaded, burned the iso image to cd, and installed Ubuntu Linux. It's very nice! In fact, I'm writing this post on the Ubuntu machine. Can't you tell? :) Just kidding, of course you can't tell. It was an easy installation, but I accepted the defaults.If you're not sure how to burn an ISO Image, or don't have software or hardware capable, you can order a CD for free from Ubuntu's site here.If you're a Linux fan, or even if you're not, this is pretty nice!Sincerely, Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

To update the system type : sudo apt-get updatethen sudo apt-get upgradeeasy :D In the next release there is an update notifier, much like redhat/fedora. I've installed a few distro's of RedHat on a few different machines, and Ubuntu seemed much easier to install.
