No USB Mouse

Hi all

I have just installed a HP Laser Jet 6P printer onto my systems one is XP home sp2 the other is win 2000.

My problem is that now my USB Microsoft Intellie Explorer Cordless mouse is not working, other USB devices seem to be working OK eg.. my Logitech game pad.

The PS2 mouse is working fine.

The Printer is connected via the parallel port on both systems and is working fine.

My Epson Stylus Photo 790 is connected via USB and is also working fine.

Any ideas

Cheers

Tony

I think there is a button on the mouse (and keyboard) and on the wireless receiver to alter the Tx/Rx frequencies. Have you tried adjusting them? I don't know the detail of how to do this but it should be in the manual for the device(s).

OK guys thanks for the replies, it is now working.

The way it was set up was the mouse was plugged into a USB hub this was due to my old mother board restrictions, now i have plugged the mouse into it's own USB port on the mobo as my new one has 6 ports.

Once i plugged it in there on it's own it started working.

But i still don't know why plugging a printer into the parallel port would make the mouse stop working.

Cheers all

Tony
