Printer settings problems

Recommended Posts

This doing my head in, no matter what I try I can not get the photo to print correctly on the media.

Every time I try I get a large border on the leading edge and a corresponding drop out on the trailing and upper edge.

Tried setting the printer to 6 x 4, the software to 6 x 4, confirmed orientation, still no good.

Iv'e even tried the printer custom size setting but to no avail.

I am now reduced to cutting A4 sheets to 6 x 4 and setting the printer to draft to conserve ink and paper :(

Win98SE, Adobe photo delux,Cannon S450 printer.

Help

I hope you do get an answer as I get this as well and also print on A4 sheets. I think that the problem is down to the traction drive leaving the larger gap at the end of the print. Also I'm on the look out for a print layout application with a bit more flexibility. At present am using the standard XP print application. This only gives the options of single, x2, x3, x4, x9, and thumbnails. Quite often I need to print at x6. Hope this isn't hijacking but it might help one or more of our photo chums to give a rounded reply. PS my camera application is Cannon Zoombrowser and that seems to prefer to but the pictures together making trimming very tight.
