doug Posted January 2, 2005 Report Share Posted January 2, 2005 Have just installed my Pioneer DVR-108. It's a bare bones job, i.e. no software. Am running Win XP Pro. Tony Posted January 2, 2005 Report Share Posted January 2, 2005 Hi dougYou may be out of luck, as you will probally have to buy the dvd codec which comes with the DVD plaer software.There are a few free ones but i don't know where, as far as i know the only reason that DVD codecs are not free is to do with the DOLBY standard this has to be paid for somewhere along the line. Kirk Posted January 2, 2005 Report Share Posted January 2, 2005 as they said, try to get ahold of powerdvd. if you have any of the software disks from the previous dvd player open it and look for powerdvd on there someplace. install it, if found, and it will work with the new dvd. i have one that came bundled with other junk when i bought my computer 2 years ago. its ver. 5. but 4 will work also. might ask friends if they have a powerdvd disk too.
